múcua the fruit of the baobab

The fruit of the Baobab, best known for múcua or Mukua, can have up to 25 inches long
. has within it a core dry edible apart easily in the mouth and the taste is bittersweet. This fruit is rich in vitamins and minerals.
Múcua, the latest super fruit has two times more calcium than milk and is rich in antioxidants, iron and potassium, and has six times more vitamin C than an orange. The leaves can be eaten and the seeds produce edible oil.

To dissolve the múkua in boiling water gives the juice múcua that, after cooling, is taken as a cool drink with a flavor much appreciated in certain countries ..

In Angola and Mozambique, this tree is known as baobab or baobab. In certain regions of Mozambique, the trunk of this tree is dug by carpenters specialized to serve as community tank. In Brazil there are few baobab trees, which were brought by African priests and were planted in specific places for the worship of African religions. The baobab is the national tree of Madagascar and the national emblem of Senegal.
